Introduction
HiveTrack is a beekeeping hive management app developed by IronFrame Studio, based in Belgium. This privacy policy explains what data the app collects, how it is stored, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
HiveTrack is designed with privacy in mind: the app works fully offline with all data stored on your device. Cloud features are entirely optional and require you to create an account.
What Data Does HiveTrack Collect?
Data stored locally on your device (no account required)
All core app data remains on your device unless you opt in to cloud sync:
- Hive and apiary information — names, notes, and management records
- Inspection records — observations, dates, and notes about your hives
- Treatment records — details of treatments applied to hives
- Feeding records — type, quantity, and dates of feedings
- Queen status — queen-related notes and tracking data
- Harvest records — honey and other harvest data
- Photos — images you attach to inspections, stored locally on your device
- GPS coordinates — optionally provided by you for apiary locations; these are never automatically collected
- Reminders — custom and automatic reminders for hive management tasks
Data collected when you create an account (optional)
If you choose to create a HiveTrack account for cloud sync, we collect:
- Email address — used for account creation, authentication, and password recovery
- Password — stored securely as a hash (we never have access to your plaintext password)
- Subscription status — your current subscription tier (free, sync, or pro)
Data synced to the cloud (optional, requires subscription)
If you subscribe to Cloud Sync or Pro, the hive data listed above is synced to our cloud servers so you can access it across multiple devices. This sync is opt-in and only active while you have an active subscription.
Data we do NOT collect
- Device identifiers or hardware information
- Usage analytics or behavioural data
- Location data without your explicit input
- Any data from other apps on your device
- Advertising or tracking data
How Is Your Data Stored?
Local storage
All data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. Photos are stored in your device's local storage. This data is protected by your device's own security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.).
Cloud storage (optional)
If you opt in to cloud sync, your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase (hosted in the EU, Ireland region). Data is:
- Encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS
- Isolated per user using row-level security — no other user can access your data
- Stored within the EU in compliance with GDPR data residency requirements
Cloud backups of your database are stored in Supabase Storage, also in the EU, with per-user access controls.

We do not use:

Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or transfer your personal data to any third party for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes.
Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above, strictly for the purpose of providing the app's functionality (authentication and subscription billing).
Your Rights Under GDPR
As a user in the European Union, you have the following rights:
- Right of access — You can view all your data within the app at any time.
- Right to rectification — You can edit any data you have entered in the app.
- Right to erasure — You can delete your account and all associated data using the "Delete Account" option in the app. This permanently removes your data from both the device and our servers.
- Right to data portability — You can export your data using the app's backup feature.
- Right to restriction of processing — No automated processing or profiling takes place.
- Right to withdraw consent — You can stop using cloud sync at any time by cancelling your subscription. Your data will remain on your device.

Data Retention
- Local data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Cloud data is retained as long as you have an active account. When you delete your account, all cloud data (profile, hive data, backups) is permanently deleted from our servers.
- Subscription records are managed by Google Play and are subject to Google's data retention policies.
Children's Privacy
HiveTrack is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Inleiding
HiveTrack is een app voor bijenkastbeheer, ontwikkeld door IronFrame Studio in België. Dit privacybeleid legt uit welke gegevens de app verzamelt, hoe ze worden opgeslagen en welke rechten je hebt onder de Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG/GDPR).
HiveTrack is ontworpen met privacy als uitgangspunt: de app werkt volledig offline en al je gegevens worden op je toestel opgeslagen. Cloudfuncties zijn volledig optioneel en vereisen het aanmaken van een account.
Welke gegevens verzamelt HiveTrack?
Gegevens op je toestel (geen account vereist)
Alle kerngegevens blijven op je toestel, tenzij je kiest voor cloudsync:
- Kast- en bijenstandgegevens — namen, notities en beheergegevens
- Inspectieverslagen — waarnemingen, datums en notities over je kasten
- Behandelingsgegevens — details van behandelingen bij je kasten
- Voedergegevens — type, hoeveelheid en datums van voederingen
- Koninginnenstatus — notities en opvolging van koninginnen
- Oogstgegevens — honing en andere oogstdata
- Foto's — afbeeldingen die je aan inspecties toevoegt, lokaal opgeslagen
- GPS-coördinaten — optioneel door jou ingevoerd voor bijenstandlocaties; worden nooit automatisch verzameld
- Herinneringen — aangepaste en automatische herinneringen voor kastbeheer
Gegevens bij het aanmaken van een account (optioneel)
Als je een HiveTrack-account aanmaakt voor cloudsync, verzamelen we:
- E-mailadres — voor accountaanmaak, authenticatie en wachtwoordherstel
- Wachtwoord — veilig opgeslagen als hash (wij hebben nooit toegang tot je wachtwoord in leesbare vorm)
- Abonnementsstatus — je huidige abonnementsniveau (gratis, sync of pro)
Gegevens gesynchroniseerd naar de cloud (optioneel, vereist abonnement)
Als je een Cloud Sync- of Pro-abonnement hebt, worden de hierboven vermelde kastgegevens gesynchroniseerd naar onze cloudservers zodat je ze op meerdere apparaten kunt raadplegen. Deze sync is opt-in en alleen actief zolang je een actief abonnement hebt.
Gegevens die we NIET verzamelen
- Toestelidentificatie of hardware-informatie
- Gebruiksanalyse of gedragsgegevens
- Locatiegegevens zonder jouw expliciete invoer
- Gegevens van andere apps op je toestel
- Reclame- of trackinggegevens
Hoe worden je gegevens opgeslagen?
Lokale opslag
Alle gegevens worden opgeslagen in een lokale SQLite-database op je toestel. Foto's worden opgeslagen in de lokale opslag van je toestel. Deze gegevens worden beschermd door de beveiligingsmaatregelen van je toestel (schermvergrendeling, versleuteling, enz.).
Cloudopslag (optioneel)
Als je kiest voor cloudsync, worden je gegevens opgeslagen op servers van Supabase (gehost in de EU, regio Ierland). Gegevens zijn:
- Versleuteld tijdens verzending via TLS/HTTPS
- Per gebruiker afgeschermd met row-level security — geen andere gebruiker heeft toegang tot jouw gegevens
- Opgeslagen binnen de EU in overeenstemming met de AVG-vereisten voor gegevensopslag
Cloudback-ups van je database worden ook in de EU opgeslagen in Supabase Storage, met toegangscontrole per gebruiker.

Gegevens delen
Wij delen, verkopen of dragen je persoonlijke gegevens niet over aan derden voor reclame, marketing of profilering.
Gegevens worden uitsluitend gedeeld met de hierboven vermelde diensten van derden, strikt voor het leveren van de functionaliteit van de app (authenticatie en abonnementsfacturering).
Je rechten onder de AVG
Als gebruiker in de Europese Unie heb je de volgende rechten:
- Recht op inzage — Je kunt al je gegevens op elk moment bekijken in de app.
- Recht op rectificatie — Je kunt alle ingevoerde gegevens bewerken in de app.
- Recht op verwijdering — Je kunt je account en alle bijbehorende gegevens verwijderen via de optie "Account verwijderen" in de app. Dit verwijdert je gegevens permanent van zowel je toestel als onze servers.
- Recht op overdraagbaarheid — Je kunt je gegevens exporteren via de back-upfunctie van de app.
- Recht op beperking van verwerking — Er vindt geen geautomatiseerde verwerking of profilering plaats.
- Recht om toestemming in te trekken — Je kunt op elk moment stoppen met cloudsync door je abonnement op te zeggen. Je gegevens blijven op je toestel staan.

Bewaring van gegevens
- Lokale gegevens worden op je toestel bewaard totdat je ze verwijdert of de app verwijdert.
- Cloudgegevens worden bewaard zolang je een actief account hebt. Wanneer je je account verwijdert, worden alle cloudgegevens (profiel, kastgegevens, back-ups) permanent van onze servers verwijderd.
- Abonnementsgegevens worden beheerd door Google Play en vallen onder het gegevensbeleid van Google.
Privacy van kinderen
HiveTrack is niet gericht op kinderen jonger dan 16 jaar. Wij verzamelen niet bewust gegevens van kinderen.
Wijzigingen in dit privacybeleid
We kunnen dit privacybeleid van tijd tot tijd bijwerken. Eventuele wijzigingen worden weergegeven in de datum "Laatst bijgewerkt" bovenaan deze pagina. We raden je aan dit beleid regelmatig te bekijken. Voortgezet gebruik van de app na wijzigingen houdt aanvaarding van het bijgewerkte beleid in.
